The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has failed to reveal the action it took against agencies that did not try to recover the money lost in multiple cases.

The ACC did not respond to repeated calls and text messages.

In May 2024, the ACC said it had ordered the authorities to recover more than MVR 50 million from the cases it had investigated.

The commission added that legal action will be taken against those who do not try to recover the money.

In 2022, the ACC set up a special system to monitor the work done by agencies to recover lost money.

Out of the total MVR 50.3 million, the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) was ordered to recover MVR 40.4 million.

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company was ordered to recover MVR 8.4 million and Fenaka was ordered to recover MVR 1.4 million.
