Shadi Qawasmi appointed new CEO of Ooredoo Maldives

Shadi Qawasmi has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Ooredoo Maldives.

Ooredoo said it is confident that Qawasmi's leadership will help the company reach new heights and enhance the lives of society through digital tools.

Qawasmi joined the Ooredoo Group in 2015 with over 10 years of leadership experience in telecommunications, strategy and brand management.

He has held senior positions such as Chief Commercial Officer, Sales Director and Head of Brand and Communications at Ooredoo Palestine.

According to Ooredoo Group, former Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Ooredoo Maldives, Khalid Al-Hamadi, will be taking on a new role.

Appointed in 2022, Hamadi has led an accelerated phase of digital transformation - expanding 5G coverage to 60 percent of the population.

"Under his leadership, Ooredoo Maldives has earned global recognition, including a Guinness World Record," the Ooredoo Group stated.
