The Rukuri digital platform to connect tourism employers and job seekers was launched yesterday (January 31).

Island Recruits launched Rukuri to provide a fast and transparent system for multiple services under a single platform as the tourism industry expands.

"Founded in 2023, Rukuri is a platform designed by Island Recruits specifically targeting the tourism sector. It is a modern system that allows employers and job seekers to make faster decisions," Rukuri said.

Island Recruits co-founder Ali Faiz said enabling access to the services under a single platform will empower local workers and help employers find the right person.

Rukuri can be used to find jobs ranging from senior positions in luxury resorts to guesthouses, restaurants and other tourism-related businesses.

The job seeker can manage all applications from one place through Rukuri, and employers can check candidate information without any hassle.

"Rukuri is a platform where job seekers can manage their entire career in one place. Instead of spending time on different platforms, they can search for jobs, apply and check their application from one place," the company said.

In addition, a special section has been included to recruit freelancers or short-term workers for resorts.

To build a trustworthy work environment, Rukuri has enabled job seekers to verify their work experience and has also provided reference checking and profile verification.

Island Recruits' mission is to further strengthen the Maldives' tourism sector and modernise the job market, the company said.
