A missing foreigner was found dead on Kaafu Thilafushi island yesterday (January 29).

Police began searching for the Bangladeshi man after he went missing in the industrial island's dump yard.

Adhadhu understands he was hit on the head with an excavator and disappeared under a load of garbage.

Police began searching for him in the evening. Another foreigner was operating the excavator at the time of the incident.

Police are yet to disclose details, but said further investigations are underway.
