Two foreigners have been arrested in connection with a fight at the Velana International Airport (VIA) taxi queue on January 9.

Sri Lankan nationals Thilak Somachandra Madetalave Kankannamalage, 43, and Priyantha Silva Devanithige, 46, were arrested in connection with the case.

They were remanded in custody for 15 days. Their lawyer told the court that the fight was not intended to commit a crime.

The video of the fight circulated on social media. The two assailants were summoned to the police station and warned at the time.
