Matchday 14 Round-Up: Maziya Take a Major Step Toward the Title

Maziya Sports & Recreation continued their dominant run in the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League with a comfortable 3–0 victory over Victory Sports Club, moving a step closer to securing their fifth consecutive league title.

With the win, Maziya now require just two more victories to clinch the championship.

Following the conclusion of Gameweek 14, Maziya remain top of the table with 40 points. Odi Sports Club sit second on 32 points, while New Radiant Sports Club occupy third place with 27 points. Buru Sports Club are close behind in fourth with 26 points, followed by Club Eagles in fifth on 22 points and Victory Sports Club in sixth with 20 points.

At the lower end of the table, TC Sports Club are seventh with nine points. Club Green Streets and Club Valencia are level in eighth and ninth place with eight points apiece, while United Victory remain at the bottom with seven points.

Club Eagles climbed to fifth place after securing an emphatic 4–1 win over United Victory. Zain Zafar played a key role in the victory, finding the net and contributing significantly to Eagles’ attacking display.

Buru Sports Club also registered a convincing 4–1 win over Club Valencia to maintain their push up the standings. Despite Valencia taking an early lead, Buru mounted a strong comeback, with Ghanaian midfielder Diwandou Diagne scoring twice and Abdulla Yaameen (Yaanu) adding a spectacular goal.

New Radiant Sports Club returned to third place after a 2–0 victory over TC Sports Club. Both goals came deep into stoppage time, with Nigerian forward Alhaji Gero netting twice to seal the win.
