President Mohamed Muizzu departed for the United Kingdom on Saturday night to participate in the High-level Briefing on Private Capital Mobilisation organised by the Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI).
According to the President's Office, the visit is being made at the invitation of His Majesty King Charles III.
The briefing brings together Heads of Multilateral Development Banks and leaders of major financial institutions.
The event focuses on mobilising private capital to accelerate sustainable development and support global climate transitions through strengthened international cooperation.
The Sustainable Markets Initiative was established by the King to drive private-sector action on sustainability, convening CEOs and international decision-makers to make sustainability a core priority of economic activity.
It aims to guide the private sector towards long-term, environmentally responsible growth aligned with national climate commitments and the 1.5°C pathway.
This is Muizzu's fifth visit to the UK since taking office in November 2023.
