The profile details and mugshot of a relative of Manadhoo MP Husnee Mubarak have been deleted from the police website and social media platforms.

Police announced at 11:40 am on Monday that Hassan Nahil, 18, was arrested with 31 grams of drugs in Hulhumale'.

Responding to questions about why his details and mugshot were later removed, police said this was done for "investigative purposes."

The ruling party MP Husnee is also the President of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC). His father and Nahil's mother are siblings.

Police usually disclose details and mugshots of suspects, except in some serious cases. It is not usual practice to remove these details after publicising.
