President Muizzu pledges to begin CT scan services in 15 islands

President Mohamed Muizzu has pledged to begin CT scan services in 15 islands in the next six months.

Speaking at a rally at the Social Centre to mark the second anniversary of his administration, Muizzu also said MRI services would be launched in all tertiary hospitals within the next six months.

“Now we have started work. Materials have been ordered, 15 islands to be upgraded in terms of buildings and facilities to set up CT scan services. It will be arranged, in 15 islands, within the next six months,” he said.

Muizzu added that decompression chambers will be installed in six islands within the next six months as well.

In September, the government opened a decompression chamber in Thaa Guraidhoo. At its opening ceremony, Muizzu said decompression chambers will be set up in six islands by January 2026.

The government plans to set up decompression chambers in Male', Addu, Fuvahmulah and Alif Alif Rasdhoo and Gaaf Alif Villingili.
