The Maldives Journalists Association (MJA) has shared the obstacles to journalism in the Maldives with the European Union (EU).
The MJA, which is meeting the EU delegation in Sri Lanka, shared its concerns over the Media Control Act and the Evidence Bill.
The MJA team is meeting with various international organisations to share information about the situation of media freedom in the Maldives.
They have met with the EU delegation, the Sri Lankan Press Complaints Commission, the Free Media Movement, the Foreign Correspondents Association and the Sri Lankan Working Journalists Association.
MJA President Ahmed Naif, Deputy President Mohamed Shahzan and members Mohamed Junaid and Ahmed Zahir (Hiriga) are representing the MJA.
