Malé, Maldives – New Radiant Sports Club continued their impressive return to the top tier of Maldivian football with a solid 2–0 victory over Club Valencia, while Club Green Streets pulled off a dramatic 3–2 win against Club Eagles to earn their first points in the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League 2025/26.
In a highly anticipated clash between two former champions, it was New Radiant captain Ali Fasir (Sentey) who made the difference, scoring both goals in the second half against his former side. His first came from a well-placed header, followed by a calmly converted penalty to seal the win. This was the first Premier League meeting between New Radiant and Valencia in over nine years.
New Radiant now remain second in the standings, level on nine points with Maziya Sports & Recreation, who top the table thanks to a superior goal difference.
Meanwhile, Club Green Streets, who had lost their opening two matches, delivered a spirited performance to edge Club Eagles in a five-goal thriller. Egyptian forward Obaida Kadhim opened the scoring for Green Streets, followed by a stunning long-range goal from captain Rilwan Waheed (Riley) from the center circle to make it 2–0.
Eagles, however, mounted a comeback. Japanese midfielder Katsuyoshi Kimishima pulled one back with a sharp finish inside the box, and in the 83rd minute, captain Ahmed Rizuvan broke through the Green Streets backline to level the match at 2–2.
But Green Streets had the final say. In stoppage time, Obaida rose highest to nod in the 93rd-minute winner, securing a memorable victory and a crucial three points. The win lifts Green Streets to sixth place, while Eagles remain winless in the league and sit ninth with just one point from four games, including their Charity Shield appearance.
