A man has been arrested in connection with an accident which caused the death of a 64-year-old woman near Laamu Kadhdhoo airport on Friday.

The accident occurred when the woman and her grand daughter were on the pedestrian crossing to Kadhdhoo airport. The motorcycle was travelling from Fonadhoo to Gan.

All three involved in the accident were taken to the hospital, but the woman died while undergoing emergency treatment at Gan Hospital.

Police said the motorcyclist, 37-year-old Mohamed Nausan, was arrested and remanded in custody for 15 days.
