Foreign Minister Abdulla Khaleel has refused to say the India Out movement by the Progressive Party of Maldives-People's National Congress (PPM-PNC) was wrong.

It was run when the current ruling party was in the opposition with President Mohamed Muizzu and other government leaders advocating for "India Out."

Khaleel was summoned to Wednesday parliament session and MPs from the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) questioned about his views on the movement.

Khaleel said he attended an "India Out" rally, but had never worn an "India Out" t-shirt.

Kanditheemu MP Ameen Faisal questioned whether Khaleel views the movement was wrong.

He refused to respond and blamed MDP for harming the country when in power. He also refused to respond to questions about disclosing agreements with India.

Muizzu assumed office with a pledge to disclose the agreements, but has failed to do so while work related to the agreements has been stalled in the parliament.
