A 17-year-old boy died in a dangerous road accident in Fuvahmulah city early on Wednesday.

Police said the accident occurred when the teen's motorcycle hit a wall, lost control and crashed into a street light pole.

The accident was reported at 2:40 am. The teen died at 3:38 am while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Police said further investigations were underway.

He is the second minor to have died in a road accident over the past 24 days. On July 13, a 17-year-old boy died in a dangerous accident in Male' city.
