The Prosecutor General's (PG) office has released 10 suspects in indefinite custody after conducting risk assessments.
According to the information shared with Adhadhu, 103 suspects have been assessed so far, out of which 10 were released under a new electronic monitoring system.
The PG office decided against releasing 83 suspects while a decision has not yet been reached on 10 suspects. Risk assessments are pending for 149 suspects.
Seven of the 10 people tagged and released are connected to drug trafficking cases. The remaining three are connected to assault cases.
The electronic tagging is done by applying to the court for a review of the remand. They can be released for a maximum of 100 days.
Such individuals can apply to the court for a review of their remand every 100 days. If any such individual violates conditions imposed by the court, the PG office will immediately request the court to detain the person.
