The Ambassador of the United States Hugo Yon has met with Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Saeed.

In a post on X, the Economic Ministry said discussions were held on strengthening trade and investment relations between the two countries.

This is Saeed's fifth meeting with Yon. He previously met with Yon twice in 2023 and three times in 2024.

Saeed also visited the United States in July 2024. His visit was also aimed at strengthening trade relations between the two countries.

Meanwhile, the United States recently rejected the visa application of Islamic Minister Mohamed Shaheem.

Shaheem was due to attend the UN summit "High-Level Conference on Two-State Solution for Israel and Palestine" in New York.
