The Singapore government has urged its citizens to take the necessary precautions when travelling to the Maldives.
This comes amid nightly protests by the youth over the response to the ninth-floor fall of Hawwa Yumnu, 21, on April 18.
"Exercise caution, avoid protest areas, monitor developments through the local news, and heed the instructions of the local authorities," the Singapore government stated.
There have been accusations of police lying to Yumnu's family, tampering with video footage and victim-blaming to cover up the case because it involved relatives of politically influential and wealthy figures.
Yumnu was found with multiple life-threatening injuries on the roof of a warehouse next to Henveiru Fentenoy house, nearly three hours after her fall. She was airlifted to Malaysia for medical treatment.
According to the family, she has been recovering after a major surgery and is now able to speak and recollect the incident.
