Eight individuals who allegedly partied with 21-year-old Hawwa Yumnu on April 18 before she fell from the ninth floor of a house in Male' have been barred from leaving the country.
According to the police, Yumnu fell from a window in the stairwell of Henveiru Fentenoy house. She had attended a drug-fueled party in another house earlier that night with eight others.
Speaking at a press conference today, Police Commissioner Ali Sujau said their passports had been seized.

Sujau said police would search the locations connected to the investigation and would not allow the eight individuals to leave the country before the investigation is completed.
Adhadhu understands that the party took place at Mahchangolhi Maandhooge Dhekunuge house. The house belongs to Transport Minister Mohamed Ameen and two of his siblings.
Later that night, Yumnu fell from the ninth-floor of Henveiru Fentenoy house. Police claimed she was accompanied by only one person at the time of the incident, but initially declined to reveal the 21-year-old man's identity. He has been identified as Raudh Ahmed.
Raudh left the scene after Yumnu fell and did not report to the authorities. She was discovered on a roof nearly three hours later and remains in critical condition.
Police did not arrest him for leaving the scene and even after he tested positive for cannabis on the following day.
On Wednesday night, young people gathered near a police building in Male' and demanded justice and a fair investigation.
