The government has awarded projects to construct new hospital buildings in Gaaf Dhaal Thinadhoo, Raa Ungoofaaru and Lhaviyani Naifaru islands.

The contracts for the new buildings for Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital in Thinadhoo and Ungoofaaru Hospital were awarded to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

Road Development Corporation (RDC) was contracted to construct the new building for Naifaru Hospital. A second project was awarded to RDC to upgrade Naifaru Hospital to tertiary level.

Under the project to upgrade Naifaru Hospital to tertiary level, its labour room complex and ICU will be expanded.

The project awarding ceremony was held at the Health Ministry today. Health Minister Abdulla Nazim, senior officials of MTCC and RDC attended the ceremony.
