Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel has officially inaugurated the Maldives Embassy in Türkiye.

A flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the embassy in Ankara. Türkiye's Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and Maldives Ambassador to Türkiye Lieutenant General (Retd) Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef attended the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Khaleel said the embassy is a testament to the growing ties between the two nations.

Meanwhile, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy highlighted that friendly relations have developed and deepened over the years in many areas.

The Foreign Ministry said the establishment of an embassy in Türkiye marks a historical milestone in the bilateral relations with the country.

"The Embassy will contribute to implementing the Maldives’ foreign policy and assist with the provision of consular services to the growing Maldivian diaspora in Türkiye," the ministry stated.
