Police have said that no arrests have been made in connection with the assault on Six Senses Laamu Resort General Manager Marteyne van Well, despite recovering the weapon.

Marteyne was injured after being assaulted on February 2. Police said no suspects have been taken into custody while the investigation continued.

But Adhadhu understands that they found the weapon used in the assault.

Marteyne was riding a bicycle when she was attacked by someone who struck her in the head. The incident occurred in the resort.

Marteyne was treated at the Laamu atoll regional hospital.

Marteyne has been nominated, with six others, for the Hotelier Maldives' General Manager of the Year award.
