A Maldivian national has been reported missing in Malaysia.

The Foreign Ministry confirmed reports about the missing person but did not provide details.

"The Maldivian High Commission in Malaysia is working with the Malaysian authorities to locate the person," the Foreign Ministry said.

Adhadhu understands that the missing person had been identified as Ahmed Usaid Ibrahim Afeef.

It is not yet clear how he went missing.
