Ooredoo Maldives is preparing to launch the first e-SIM wearable service in Maldives that allows customers to connect directly from their smartwatches without using their phones.

With this advanced technology, users can make calls, send messages, stream music and stay connected to their favourite applications on their Samsung smartwatches.

“With Samsung eSIM wearables, we are unlocking new possibilities for connectivity, making it easier for our customers to stay in touch, track their fitness, and manage their daily activities effortlessly,” said Ooredoo Maldives’ CEO and Managing Director, Khalid Al-Hamadi.

Managing Director of Samsung Sri Lanka and Maldives SangHwa Song said the partnership with Ooredoo reflects Samsung’s focus on enhancing digital lifestyles.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Ooredoo Maldives to introduce eSIM functionality on our smartwatches, empowering customers to stay connected anytime, anywhere—without needing their phone,” he said.

The Samsung e-SIM wearable service is expected to be available to Ooredoo Maldives customers next month.

Ooredoo said the smartwatch can be activated with the current mobile number, and more details including supported devices and activation steps will be announced in the coming days.
