Immigration has arrested three Indian nationals for advertising astrology, horoscope and black magic removal services in the Maldives.

In a post on X, Immigration said they were apprehended and detained yesterday in an operation carried out in coordination with the police.

They are three men aged 18, 39 and 25. Police said the process for their deportation was underway.

In a message to the media yesterday, police said the Facebook page promoted under the name Master Durga Rao Guruji had come to their attention.

The Facebook page has a contact number and promotes services such as palm reading, marriage solutions and black magic removal.

Earlier in 2023, a Hindu priest visiting the Maldives advertised spiritual healing classes. But police arrested and deported him before the classes were held.
