Amilla Fushi resort to be sold

The Tourism Ministry is clarifying debt and legal issues related to Baa Finolhas before selling off the luxury resort Amilla Fushi operated on the island.

The resort is operated by Coastline Hotels and Resorts. Its sale was announced in August 2024.

The company has now submitted a proposal to the Tourism Ministry to transfer the rights under the lease agreement.

The resort has 68 villas and is a 30-minute seaplane ride from Velana International Airport (VIA). It has one of the largest tourist accommodations in Maldives.

Amilla Fushi is one of the resorts that rents its villas for residential purposes. In 2020, its villas were opened for rent for a 50-year period.
