Ooredoo and Qatar Charity partners to repair Hulhumale' Grand Mosque

Ooredoo Maldives has signed an agreement with Qatar Charity to repair the Masjid al Sheikh Qasim bin Al-Thani (Hulhumale' Grand Mosque) ahead of Ramadan.

Under the agreement, the building will be upgraded with a full air conditioning system and renovation works.

The agreement was signed by Ooredoo CEO and MD Khalid Al-Hamadi and Qatar Charity Chief Marketing Officer Ahmad Fakhroo at a ceremony in Doha.

Al-Hamadi said people spend long hours in mosques during Ramadan and that Ooredoo Maldives was honored to work with Qatar Charity to develop mosque facilities.

“We hope that this work will bring benefits to our community during this holy month and beyond,” he said.

Ooredoo Maldives Chairperson Fatima Sultan Al-Kuwari also attended the ceremony.

The Grand Mosque built in Hulhumale' in 2006 has a capacity of more than 1,800 people. The courtyard of the mosque is adorned with trees while the mosque's ceiling has a beautiful geometric design.
