A mosque in Male' has been vandalized with damages to electric boards and the ablution area.

Police confirmed the incident in Furqan mosque. It is unclear if a group or an individual caused the damages.

Religious scholar Adam Nishan shared videos of the mosque and said the damages were caused by a young man who regularly sleeps there.

He accused the suspect of damaging the mosque several times before.

In a message sent to the media, police said investigations were underway.
