The Economic Ministry has decided to hold an exhibition showcasing local products.

Deputy Minister Solih Hussain told a news conference on Sunday that the Maldives Expo 2025 will be held next year.

"We have decided to hold an exhibition titled 'Maldives Expo 2025' to showcase Maldivian products. The exhibition will feature participants from 81 categories," he said.

The expo is scheduled to be held from May 23 to May 31 next year at Central Park in Hulhumale'.

While a total of 81 categories are open for participants, Solih said the rules will be published in the government gazette soon.

Individuals, islands and cities as well as educational institutions can also participate. Businesses and people with disabilities will also have the opportunity to participate.

The aim of the expo is to promote local products. Various such exhibitions and fairs have been held at international and national levels in the past.
