A window of the KFC outlet in Male' has been smashed.
The incident was reported around 3 am on Tuesday, police said. No further details were provided.
The case is under investigation, police said.
In recent weeks, posters were put up outside the outlet calling for a boycott of KFC over Israel's genocide against the Palestine people. KFC is among the brands that support and provide financial assistance to Israel.
KFC is also on the list of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement led by Palestine citizens.
KFC has been facing significant financial losses due to the campaign. The brand has been forced to close restaurants in some countries.
The franchise is operated in the Maldives by Gamma Island Food Pvt Ltd, whose shareholders are Maldivian company Island Food Pvt Ltd and Indian company Gamma Pizzacraft Overseas Ltd.
