Diarrhea cases rise as dengue and flu cases decline

The number of dengue fever and flu cases decreased in February and March while the number of diarrhea cases has increased.

According to official figures, 383 cases of dengue fever and 68,597 cases of flu were reported in February and March 2023. The numbers have dropped to 235 cases of dengue fever and 63,421 cases of flu during February and March 2024.

A total of 8,399 diarrhea cases were reported in February and March last year, compared to 10,577 in the same period this year.

Although the number of common diseases reported this year is lower compared to last year, the figures are higher in March compared to February this year.

While flu numbers are over 60,000, 850 people with symptoms have been tested for influenza so far this year. Of these, 125 tested positive.

The influenza trend shows cases declining month by month. The 125 positive cases include 68 in January, 31 in February and 26 in March.
