CVF appoints former President Nasheed as Secretary General

The Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF) has appointed former President Mohamed Nasheed as its Secretary General.

In a post on X, Nasheed thanked CVF for his appointment to the post. He also expressed his hope for stronger cooperation with CVF President, Barbados Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley.

The purpose of the CVF is to bring together countries most affected by negative environmental impacts in international forums such as COP.

CVF is an international organization established in 2009 under the leadership of President Nasheed and the Maldives.

The first meeting of the group was held in November 2009, in Maldives. At that time, the group had 10 member countries.

The CVF currently has 58 member countries, including countries in Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America and the Pacific.
