Judge Abdulla Ihusaan, who was under suspension by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) over allegations of sexual harassment, has resigned from his post.

The JSC suspended the judge on August 19 for a period of 60 days. That suspension period ended on Monday.

"As Civil Court Judge Al-Ustaz Abdulla Ihusaan has submitted his resignation from the judiciary effective October 21, 2026, he has been relieved of his judicial duties as of today," the JSC stated.

At the time of his suspension, the JSC noted that the decision to remove him from his duties was based on the principle of maintaining public trust in the judiciary.

"Given the nature of the allegations being investigated against Abdulla Ihusaan and the information gathered thus far, the Commission has decided to temporarily suspend Judge Al-Ustaz Abdulla Ihusaan for 60 days effective August 19, 2026, in accordance with Section 25(l) of the Judicial Service Commission Act, to uphold the integrity of the judiciary," the Commission had previously stated.
