Government taxi involved in accident in Hulhumalé early this morning

A government-owned taxi travelling in Hulhumalé was damaged last night after crashing into a lamp post on Bagheecha Hingun.

According to the police, the accident was reported to the authorities at approximately 4:33 am.

The driver, a 28-year-old Maldivian male, sustained various injuries in the crash. However, police confirmed that he did not suffer any life-threatening or serious injuries.

Following the incident, the police have confiscated the driver's license.

The authorities are currently conducting a further investigation into the accident.
