The official logo, theme song, and branding for the "Visit Maldives 2027" national campaign were officially unveiled last night.

The branding was launched by Hussain Afeef, Chairman of the Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI), and Tourism Minister Mohamed Ameen during a ceremony held at Barceló Nasandhura to mark National Tourism Day.

Visit Maldives said that this brand serves as a point of national pride, representing the nation, stakeholders in the tourism industry, and every guest who visits the islands.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ameen emphasised the importance of collective participation from resorts, guesthouses, businesses, employees, and the general public in the campaign launched by Visit Maldives.

"The success of this campaign will be a victory for the entire country and for all of us," the Minister said.

President Mohamed Muizzu first announced the campaign in February. Delivering his presidential address, he said that the initiative would be a major national movement involving all domestic and international stakeholders directly or indirectly linked to the tourism industry.

The official slogan for Visit Maldives Year 2027, "Islands Are Us," was announced last August. The objective of this theme is to fully embrace the Maldivian island identity and promote the unique characteristics that define the nation's islands.

During the ceremony, the "Maldives Tourism Awards" for the upcoming year were also launched. Applications for the awards are scheduled to open in the first quarter of next year.

The awards, which were introduced in 2022, have been expanded to include additional categories, with honours now being presented across four main areas: Human Resource Development, Sustainability, Guest Experience, and Individual Excellence.
