Thaana AI has officially launched voice cloning and new text-to-speech models designed to produce expressive, natural-sounding voices in both Dhivehi and English.
With this latest update, users can seamlessly mix Dhivehi and English within a single sentence, benefit from accurate pronunciation of Dhivehi names, and fully customize the speed and pitch of the generated audio.
These models are engineered to handle "Dhinglish"—the common blend of Dhivehi and English used in everyday conversation. Thaana AI stated that these human-like, emotive voices will enhance storytelling, educational content delivery, and professional communications.
Prior to audio generation, the system utilizes "text normalization" to expand abbreviations and shorthand. This process ensures accurate number recognition and resolves contextual ambiguities. For instance, in a sentence regarding an appointment time and date for "Dr. Aishath," the system will fluently articulate the abbreviated titles and English terms with a natural cadence.
The platform’s new voice cloning feature allows individuals to create and utilize an AI version of their own voice. This facilitates consistency across videos, narrations, and general audio content. Furthermore, users can now assign different voices to various segments of a single script, enabling the creation of complex dialogues and advertisements.
Beyond content creators, these tools are designed for educators to convert lessons into audio, for corporations to facilitate employee training, and for government agencies to disseminate public information.
