Former President Abdulla Yameen is scheduled to travel to Addu City on Friday as part of a People’s National Front (PNF) delegation.
In an interview with Channel 13, Yameen confirmed that a rally is planned to take place in the city during his visit.
The PNF has alleged that employees of state-owned enterprises are being instructed not to attend the welcoming ceremonies for the former president during this trip.
Before this scheduled visit to Addu, Yameen has travelled to Fuvahmulah City and Thinadhoo City to participate in various PNF activities.
The PNF, representing Yameen—who has already announced his intention to contest the 2028 presidential election—continues to hold weekly political events.
Most recently, the party held a rally titled "Fehi Signal" (Green Signal) at the Artificial Beach in Malé. Additionally, the party holds gatherings at its headquarters three times a week.
