The President and CEO of Canon Singapore, Mr. Toshiyuki (Tiger) Ishii, has concluded a visit to the Maldives to commemorate a robust business partnership with the renowned SIMDI Group spanning over 30 years.

The visit, which took place last Wednesday, serves as a symbol of the mutual trust and close cooperation between the two companies. SIMDI Group first introduced Canon products to the Maldivian market in 1995.

During his visit, Mr. Ishii met with senior officials from the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF). As one of the most prominent institutions regularly utilizing Canon products in the country, the MNDF was presented with a commemorative plaque in recognition of their continued trust in the brand. Additionally, Mr. Ishii toured the Canon showroom and the SIMDI Tech Service Center to observe their operations firsthand.

At a press conference held at SIMDI’s head office, discussions focused on Canon’s future vision and the innovative products set to be launched in the market. Speaking at the event, SIMDI’s Managing Director, Mishal Ibrahim Mohamed Didi, described the long-standing partnership with Canon as a major milestone for the group. He further highlighted that this collaboration has been instrumental in providing Maldivian customers with access to the latest technology.

In his remarks, Mr. Ishii highly commended SIMDI’s efforts in understanding customer needs and delivering exceptional service. Both parties expressed confidence that this visit will further strengthen their ties and expand the reach of modern technology and technical support within the Maldives. The partnership between SIMDI and Canon is widely regarded as a benchmark for business excellence in the country.
