Ahmed Abdulla, the Deputy Chairperson of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), resigned from his post today.
Adhadhu has confirmed his resignation; however, the reason for his departure remains unclear.
Ahmed Abdulla, who represented the Ihavandhoo constituency in the previous Parliament, stepped down shortly after Abdulla Shahid resigned as the President of the MDP.
Shahid resigned from the party's presidency following his announcement that he intends to contest the MDP presidential primary.
Ahmed Abdulla is considered a close associate of Shahid and has been playing a leading role in Shahid’s campaign efforts.
