Ibrahim Shiuree, the Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), has resigned from his post.
Adhadhu has confirmed Shiuree's resignation. He was appointed to the position on June 13, 2024.
The reason for Shiuree’s resignation remains unclear. He is the second individual appointed to the role under the current administration, following the initial appointment of Fathimath Thaufeeq.
Shiuree is a prominent figure in Maldivian table tennis, both as an elite player and a coach. He is a five-time national champion and has represented the Maldives in numerous international sporting competitions.
He notably served as the coach of the Maldives women’s national team when they secured three gold medals at the Indian Ocean Island Games held in Mauritius.
During a period of significant growth for Maldivian table tennis in recent years, Shiuree also held a senior leadership position within the Table Tennis Association of Maldives.
