Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race 2026

The Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR) has been scheduled for November 20 with registration officially opening on Wednesday.

This year’s edition introduces four brand-new categories: Corporate Team, Resort Team, Running Clubs, and College/University. Each of these categories allows for participation by teams consisting of four runners.

A total prize pool of MVR 296,000 has been designated for the winners across various categories of the DMRR.

Mohamed Mirshan Hassan, Dhiraagu’s Director of Brand and Marketing Communications, said that the company hopes these new categories will pave the way for broader participation and provide more opportunities for community engagement and networking.

DMRR holds the distinction of being the first international run in the Maldives listed on the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) World Running Calendar, featuring a World Athletics certified race route. The event consistently attracts runners from across the region.

As with previous years, the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race is dedicated to child protection, a core pillar of Dhiraagu’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. The event provides a platform for NGOs working in child advocacy to raise public awareness and mobilize funds.

Dhiraagu has pledged a total of MVR 200,000 to support the initiatives of the five endorsed NGOs that receive the highest number of nominations from participants.

Furthermore, Dhiraagu has decided to donate MVR 100 from every registration, along with all proceeds from the sale of special bib numbers, to be distributed equally among the endorsed NGOs. Last year, Dhiraagu donated a total of MVR 685,000 to participating organizations through the road race.

Dhiraagu confirmed that registration will remain open until the participant limit of 4,000 runners is reached.
