The People's National Front (PNF) has shared concerns with the Elections Commission (EC) regarding the challenges in party recruitment and the leak of sensitive information held by the commission.
The Secretary General of the PNF, Mohamed Maleeh, said that since the only available method for membership registration is through the eFaas portal, elderly citizens are facing difficulties in joining the party.
He noted that many individuals do not use eFaas, and even among those who do, several face technical hurdles during the platform's identity verification process.
"The process is currently very difficult. One of our recommendations is for the EC to collaborate with the Home Ministry and the Local Government Authority (LGA) to establish a system, at least in the atolls, where elderly citizens and others can complete their photo verification," Maleeh said.
Furthermore, he said that the party expressed serious concerns to the commission regarding the leak of political party data maintained by the EC.
Maleeh noted that after hearing these concerns, EC members assured the party they would work towards finding a solution. He added that the commission also provided full assurance that they would not act under government influence.
