The National Boating Association of Maldives (NBAM) has showcased the Maldives' breathtaking marine beauty and luxury safari vessel experiences at the 20th Malaysia International Dive Expo at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

NBAM President Ismail Shareef said that the expo, held from June 5-7, serves as a vital platform to expand the Maldivian marine tourism, liveaboard, and diving sectors within the Asian market. Shareef noted that with evolving travel trends, this is an opportune moment to establish the Maldives as the premier destination for Asian travellers.

The Maldivian delegation participating in the expo is actively engaging with regional tour operators and diving enthusiasts, sharing detailed insights into the rich biodiversity of Maldivian waters.

Visitors to the NBAM pavilion are being provided with information regarding the Maldives' high-end liveaboards and dive safaris.

"Participating in MIDE 2026 provides us with the direct opportunity to connect with high-end tourists who are passionate about diving," said Shareef.

"The geographical proximity and the availability of direct flights present a golden opportunity to achieve growth for the Maldivian boating and diving sectors within the Asian market."

NBAM highlighted that consistent participation in major international expos like MIDE elevates the standards of the Maldivian marine industry and fosters new partnerships.
