The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has provided temporary housing to 85 individuals after 38 apartments were damaged in a fire in a Hiyaa residential tower on Friday (January 30).
The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) is working to repair the sewerage pipes of 38 apartments in the fifth tower of the Hiyaa residential complex.
NDMA said 85 people living in 18 of the damaged apartments were provided with temporary housing and food assistance.
"The HDC is identifying and repairing the damage to the sewerage system. The HDC and this authority are investigating further matters," the NDMA said.
The fire broke out at 6:33 pm in an AC outdoor unit between the ninth and 14th floors of the building.
No one was injured in the incident and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
