Galolhu North MP Mohamed Ibrahim (Kudu) has filed a complaint with the National Pay Commission over the reduction in the salaries of legal officers.

In his complaint, Kudu said the employees had told him that the salaries and allowances of legal officers of civil service agencies and local councils had been reduced after November 1, 2025.

Before November 1, 2025, the salary and allowances was MVR 18,465 per month without overtime and after deduction for pension.

But the salary and allowances have been reduced after that date due to the changes brought to the pay framework during pay harmonization of civil service employees.

The complaints were submitted by the employees to the Pay Commission two months ago, but they have not received a response.

A petition has also been submitted to the parliament sponsored by Kudu. The petition was signed by 84 legal officers working in various agencies.
