Fenaka says continuous efforts to resolve Addu power cut issue

Fenaka Corporation has said continuous efforts are underway to find a lasting solution to the power outage issue in Addu.

In a press release, the state utility company apologised for the inconvenience and assured that they were working to find a solution.

The southern city experienced a sudden power outage at 2:40 am on Saturday and electricity was restored at around 5:55 am.

Fenaka said the power outage occurred after a man tried to damage a cable of substation No. 41 in Addu.

The man is being treated at the Equatorial Hospital. The hospital said he sustained burns and other injuries.

Fenaka is working with relevant authorities to investigate the matter further.

Fenaka has advised against damaging electric cables as it can cause losses to the company and the public and endanger the lives of perpetrators.
