Ooredoo Maldives has received the National Award of Recognition for Business and Economic Development.

The award was presented at the official ceremony held in Haa Alif Utheemu to celebrate this year’s National Day.

According to the President's Office, Ooredoo Maldives is recognized for the company's "dedicated efforts in fostering and expanding trade and commerce, particularly in the telecommunications industry."

Ooredoo Maldives has been innovatively transforming the communications industry in the Maldives since 2005.

The company, which was established under the name of Wataniyya, aims to connect people living in different parts of the Maldives through a single network.

Ooredoo Maldives provides a wide range of innovative voice, data, broadband, content and enterprise services.

More than 368,000 people use Ooredoo services across the Maldives and the company reported a revenue of USD 170 million in 2021.

Ooredoo Maldives has won the Gold Stevie for innovative achievement in organization recovery for their efforts in overcoming the challenges faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company also won the silver Stevie for m-Faisaa and Moolee for excellence in innovation in consumer product and service industries and the Bronze Stevie for Moolee excellence in innovation in technology industries.
