The national airline, Maldivian, has discontinued its premium economy service for domestic flights, which was launched on April 13, in connection with its 25th anniversary.
When contacted by Adhadhu, the Maldivian call center said the premium economy service has been suspended since July 10. The call center said it did not know when the service would resume.
It is unclear why the airline stopped offering premium economy services.
Premium economy tickets were sold at higher rates with some new services.

Benefits included 25kgs of baggage allowance, one complimentary date change, priority check-in at the airport and access to the lounges.
The addition of a new class to the existing fleet reduced the number of seats available at the usual more affordable rates.
There has been concern over the high rates of Maldivian's economy seats despite President Mohamed Muizzu's pledge to make domestic flying more affordable.
