President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, accompanied by cabinet ministers, has begun a four-day visit to 13 islands in Noonu atoll.
He is scheduled to visit Henbadhoo, Holhudhoo, Lhohi, Kudafari, Kendhikulhudhoo, Velidhoo, Manadhoo, Magoodhoo, Maalhendhoo, Maafaru, Miladhoo, Landhoo and Fohdhoo.
He is expected to meet the island councils and women's development committees to discuss the development needs of the people.
According to the President's Office, projects related to fitness and recreation centres, police posts, schools and health centres will be launched during the visit.
The trip is part of a series of visits to all the atolls to hold meetings with the local councils.
Muizzu was originally scheduled to visit Noonu atoll in the first week of July.
At the time, Velidhoo MP Mohamed Abbas said the purpose of the visit to campaign for the upcoming local council elections.
