EC members meet Chinese Ambassador

The Elections Commission (EC) members have met with Chinese Ambassador Kong Xianhua.

The meeting was held at the Chinese Embassy in Male' on Wednesday. EC President Mohamed Zahid led the commission's officials.

In a post on X, the EC said discussions were held on enhancing cooperation in the electoral process, enhancing the capacity of the commission and promoting democratic principles.

The EC is now preparing for the upcoming local council elections.

Last month, the EC members met with US Ambassador Hugo Yon.
