Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has left for Spain to attend the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development.
The conference will be held from June 30 to July 3 in Seville.
The Vice President will attend the opening ceremony of the conference and deliver a statement at the plenary meeting.
"He is also expected to participate in thematic multi-stakeholder roundtables, during which he will highlight the Maldives’ efforts towards financial reform and call on the international community to support debt sustainability and ensure inclusive representation," the President's Office said.
The Vice President will also attend various other events and speak about the country’s efforts in bringing reform.
The Vice President is accompanied by a delegation of government officials.
The third meeting of the conference was held in 2015 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
